Vines of the Venetian Lagoon

Wait, you mean they produce wine on the islands of the Venetian lagoon? Indeed, they do.

While we make it our mission to introduce you to wines from throughout the Tre Venezie, why not hop in a traditional Venetian craft and discover all the exciting wine-happenings throughout the islands of the lagoon. This custom outing includes a visit to San Michele to see where a local non-profit produces wines in the former monastery there, or a Sant’Erasmo tenuta for a lunch to discover the products and wines produced there, to one of the other local vineyards producing one of the most popular wines of the area.

Conducted by a certified sommelier, your tasting will include a glass of wine and two cichetti from each bàcaro. But instead of standing at a crowded counter trying to hear over the tourist throngs, you’ll relax and learn all about what you’re eating and drinking in our private, authentic Venetian craft. All this makes Bacaro in Barca the perfect introduction to eating and drinking Venetian-style.

Because the freshest cichetti and most convivial atmosphere are before lunch and before dinner, we’ll start at 5:30 pm from May-Oct and 11.30 am from Nov – Mar. We’ll visit three bàcari, but also point out others you may want to visit during the rest of your stay, along with some of our favorite sit-down eateries.
